The Inca Challenge
Neil and I are heading to Peru! Neil's friend Todd is getting married to a nice Peruvian girl. The wedding will be in Lima on the 30th. The bride and groom have assembled a fantastic travel package for all the wedding guests. The travel itinerary is packed! Each day there are tons of things to do and see. They call it "The Inca Challenge". Below is the Itinerary:

- Reception and Lima Nightlife
October 31, 2004
- Lima sightseeing: Governmental Palace, Lima Cathedral, Archbishop's Palace, City Hall, Church and Cloister of San Francisco, Peruvian Gold Museum and Weapon Collection
- Miraflores: Park of Love with view of Pacific
November 1, 2004
- Flight to Cuzco (10.860 ft.); arrive at the Velasco Astete Airport
- Check-in Tupac Yupanqui Palace Hotel
- Cuzco sightseeing: Main Square, Plaza del Regocijo, Cuzco Cathedral, Convent of Santo Domingo, the Legendary Korikancha, Inca archeological ruins of Tambomachay, Kenko, Puca, Pucara, and the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman

- Pisac's Village with famed Indian Market, Chinchero
- Ollantaytambo Fortress

- Machu Picchu ruins (Lost City of the Incas)
- Return by train to Cuzco

- Bus to Puno (12,725 ft.)
- Visit Andahuaylillas, Puca Pucara, and Racchi along the way
- Check-in at Eco Inn Hotel
November 5, 2004
- Boat tour of Lake Titicaca (the world's largest navigable lake)
- Visit Uros Islands (island remain afloat by resident's handy use of cattails)
- Visit Taquile Island with pre-Inca and Inca ruins
November 6, 2004
- Visit mysterious circular burial chambers "Sillustany's Chullpas" overlooking Lake Umayo
- Return flight to Lima out of Juliaca-Puno airport
- Check-in at Carmel Hotel in Miraflores
November 7, 2004
- Return flight to SFO!
